USPA NEWS - 16:00, September 28th: Emergency responders are presently addressing a confirmed woodland fire located on Aylesford Road in Lake George, Kings County, with preliminary reports indicating substantial smoke. An aerial survey has corroborated the existence of an active fire. The public is advised to steer clear of the area and adhere to directives from emergency personnel if in proximity.

To maintain public safety, the burn ban has been extended to Kings County, in conjunction with Annapolis County, as of 14:00 today.
At present, the size and containment percentage of the fire is unknown; however, crews are making significant strides. Moreover, at least one tanker operated by volunteer firefighters has been released from the scene.
18:00: Four water bombers, one helicopter, and a bird dog are on the scene of a wildfire off Aylesford Road in Lake George, Kings County, supported by DNR crews and volunteer firefighters (tankers), with the fire currently categorized as "not large."
At 19:30, it has become unsafe for crews to engage the fire in the woods after dark, and air assets are returning to base for the night. Although the fire remains small, at approximately 1 hectare, it continues to generate considerable heat. The fire is anticipated to remain classified as out of control overnight, but the rapid response today has helped stabilize the situation for the evening. Ground and air crews will recommence operations at first light tomorrow. No structures are currently at risk.
